Curtain Designs Developed Around the Intended Application
Drapestra supports custom curtain design development for importers, wholesalers, private label brands, hospitality suppliers and commercial project buyers. The purpose is to turn a concept, reference image, drawing or physical sample into a curtain specification that can be sampled, inspected and repeated in bulk production.
Design decisions are based on where the curtain will be used. Residential window curtains, hotel blackout curtains, hospital privacy curtains, door curtains and bed curtains have different requirements for materials, dimensions, construction and accessories. Functional requirements should be identified at the beginning rather than added after the design is completed.
Buyers can submit an existing product, technical drawing, inspiration image or basic written brief. If the concept is still being developed, we can review suitable fabric, size, heading and construction directions before preparing a sample.
Information Needed for Design Review
A useful design review starts with the curtain type, intended application and target market. Buyers should also provide the expected finished width and drop, panel quantity, preferred fabric, color direction, heading style, functional requirements and estimated order quantity.
For project orders, a window schedule, room list or size breakdown helps us identify repeated sizes and special constructions. For retail or private label programs, we also need to understand whether the product will be sold as a single panel, a curtain pair or a coordinated set.
Clear requirements allow us to identify which details can use existing production options and which require new material, artwork or sampling.
Fabric, Color and Pattern Coordination
Fabric affects the appearance, light control, drape, sewing method, cost and MOQ of a curtain design. Available directions include polyester, blended, cotton-linen, velvet, jacquard, blackout and sheer fabrics, depending on the product and order requirements.
Color can be reviewed against a physical swatch, color card or approved reference. Printed, embroidered and jacquard patterns require clear artwork, repeat dimensions, placement and color information. Buyers requiring detailed material development can continue through our custom fabric selection process.
Custom-dyed fabrics or exclusive patterns may require a higher material MOQ and additional preparation time compared with available fabrics and standard colors.
Dimensions, Heading and Construction
Curtain design is not limited to choosing a fabric. Finished width, drop, panel quantity, fullness, heading construction, lining, side hems, bottom hems and accessories must work together.
Depending on the approved product, the design may use eyelets, hooks, rod pockets or pleated headings. Large dimensions, pattern matching, lined constructions and joined panels require additional review because they affect material consumption and finished appearance.
Detailed size breakdowns and construction requirements are confirmed through our custom sizes and dimensions service before final sampling.
Sample Development and Design Approval
A physical sample is used to confirm whether the proposed design is suitable for production. Review points normally include fabric, color, finished dimensions, heading construction, stitching, lining, accessories and overall appearance.
Standard samples normally require 3–5 working days. Customized samples typically require 7–15 working days, depending on material availability, dimensions, pattern processing and construction complexity. The sample development stage may include revisions when the first sample requires adjustments.
Approved details should be recorded in the final specification before bulk production. This creates a clear reference for material preparation, cutting, sewing, inspection and repeat orders.
MOQ, Lead Time and Quotation Factors
Standard curtain programs usually start from 300–500 pieces per style and color. Customized OEM projects commonly start from 500–1,000 pieces, depending on fabric, color quantity, dimensions, processing and packaging.
Typical bulk production takes approximately 25–35 working days after sample approval and order confirmation. Complex customized programs may require 35–45 working days.
For an accurate quotation, please provide the design reference, curtain type, finished dimensions, material preference, heading style, quantity by size and color, functional requirements, packaging and destination. Our OEM curtain manufacturing process begins after these requirements and the approved sample have been confirmed.
